
Children’s Safety Policy
It is imperative that Alpha Greek School takes precautions to protect every child’s safety, whether it is physical, emotional, psychological, cultural or sexual abuse and neglect.

Alpha Greek School encourages and highly believes in leading by example by creating a culture in which school staff, the committee, volunteers and parents support all students to express themselves and feel confident to raise any child safety concerns.

The below steps are to ensure school staff, the committee volunteers and parents are aware of their roles and responsibilities in protecting the safety and wellbeing of all students and are able to understand their various legal obligations to report and take reasonable steps.

Take precautions and establish clear expectations in student’s safety approach.​

Implement Child Safety Policies & Procedures and support an ongoing assessment.

Build a culture that respects diversity in cultures by welcoming and accepting the relevant educational practices while keeping child safety imperative.

Stipulate guidelines on appropriate conduct and behaviour.

Employ the most suitable staff to work with children & volunteer supervision & professional development.

Ensure everyone knows who to talk to or feels comfortable to talk with, if they ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

Report suspected neglect or mistreatment or abuse immediately to appropriate authorities.

Communicate with staff, families, guardians or carers for strategies to identify and reduce or remove risks of child abuse.

Share any information provided in a discreet manner to the most suitable recipient or organization.

Screening, supervision, training and other human resource practices to reduce the risk of child mistreatment by new and existing personnel.
